The music venue this was at was absolutely the most beautiful music venue I've ever been to. It was outdoors & it was right by the river. The staff at the Whitewater Ampitheater were absolutely the nicest people ever & made sure everyone in the crowd was safe & having the time of their lives.
We got to the venue around 4 or 5ish I don't really remember the specific time but it was hours early. We got there hours early because it was a GA show & we wanted the best spots possible which we got very lucky & we were about front row/2nd row.
I mainly went to this concert to see the opening act Jacob Whitesides which I have supported his career on YouTube since 2013 so I'm pretty much an OG fan. I wanted to witness his talent & success in person which I finally did on that day. Don't worry though I also got really into R5's music a few months before the show & they actually have really great music. They deserve more appreciation.
The doors opened about an hour before the show started & we all ran to get perfect spots which at first I was super nervous we were gonna get bad spots because there was SO MANY PEOPLE with VIP passes & of course they got really good spots but we got super lucky & got super close I'm still shocked on how close we were it was amazing.
It was so easy to meet friends at this show & we made friends with so many great people. The best vibes at this show I swear. We were around a bunch of people around our age at the time which was 17/18.
So the show starts & Ryland comes out & does a lit DJ set to get us all pumped for Jacob & R5. Jacob comes out & he is literally so adorable in person & not gonna lie I fangirled a whole lot because this was my first time seeing Jacob live & I love him so much.
Jacob performed all of my favorite songs & even did a cover of Ed Sheeran's Don't which if you knew me well I freaking love Ed Sheeran. Another thing I got to say is GOD BLESS JACOB'S GUTARIST GARRETT UGH HE'S THE LOML I SWEAR.
So after sobbing over Jacob's set & in complete shock that I finally saw Jacob live for the first time R5 finally came on & let me tell y'all they are so amazing live & they are so interactive with the audience it was absolutely amazing they KILLED IT!
R5 played all of my favorite songs that I had recently gotten into at the time especially Wild Hearts & Lets Be Alone Tonight. THOSE SONGS ARE MY JAMS I SWEAR. It was so hot outside & we were all so sweaty because it was the middle of summer & perks of being in the front row when R5 pulled out the water guns we got soaked it was amazing.
I am honestly still shook by how much fun that show was. Also another thing my mom was at the show & she was sitting in the back & after the show she had started talking to Elligton's cousins it was so cool getting to meet them omg. Another thing I forgot to add whenever R5 ran by to high five people Rocky freaking high fived me. I WAS SO SHOOK.
Ok so when we were walking to the car Jacob's management had apparently gone around & put flyers on people's cars & I thought that was so cool. When we were waiting to get out of the parking lot Jacob's gutarist Garrett walked by our car & we banged so hard on the windows trying to get his attention & HE FREAKING WAVED AT US. Me & Mady were sobbing we love him so much omg. Well that basically sums up that amazing concert experience. TAKE ME BACK TO THIS DAY!!
