Grammy Nomination Thoughts 2019

Grammy Nomination Thoughts 2019

Record Of The Year:
I Like It by Cardi B, Bad Bunny, & J Balvin
The Joke by Brandi Carlile
This Is America by Childish Gambino
God’s Plan by Drake
Shallow by Lady Gaga & Bradley Cooper
All The Stars by Kendrick Lamar & SZA
Rockstar by Post Malone & 21 Savage
The Middle by Zedd, Maren Morris, & Grey

My thoughts: TOOO MANY NOMINEES!! The fact they changed it from 4 to 8 is insane. There’s so many great choices that I just can’t choose one. My top contenders are Shallow, This Is America, All The Stars, & Rockstar.

Album Of The Year:
Invasion Of Privacy by Cardi B
By The Way I Forgive You by Brandi Carlile
Scorpion by Drake
H.E.R. by H.E.R.
Beerbongs & Bentleys by Post Malone
Dirty Computer by Janelle MonĂ¡e
Golden Hour by Kacey Musgraves
The Black Panther Soundtrack

My thoughts: Off of my personal taste I listened to a lot of Post & the Black Panther soundtrack so I’m going to definitely have to go with one of those.

Song Of The Year:
All The Stars by Kendrick Lamar & SZA
Boo’d Up by Ella Mai
God’s Plan by Drake
In My Blood by Shawn Mendes
The Joke by Brandi Carlile
The Middle by Zedd, Maren Morris, & Grey
Shallow by Lady Gaga & Bradley Cooper
This Is America by Childish Gambino

My thoughts: Again way too many choices to just pick one! My top picks would be All The Stars, In My Blood, Shallow, & This Is America.

Best New Artist:
Chloe x Halle
Luke Combs
Greta Van Fleet
H.E.R.
Dua Lipa
Margo Price
Bebe Rexha
Jorja Smith

My thoughts: GIVE IT TO JORJA SMITH!! She’s honestly so underrated & deserves more recognition. If it goes to anyone else I’m going to be so upset. Also Bebe Rexha is not a new artist she’s been around since I’ve been in high school lol.

Best Pop Solo Performance:
Colors by Beck
Havana (live) by Camila Cabello
God Is A Woman by Ariana Grande
Joanne by Lady Gaga

Better Now by Post Malone

My thoughts: My top contenders are Gaga, Post, & Ariana of the Gramny’s Has the nerve to give it to Beck it’s gonna be 2015 all over again (hopefully that was the right year Beyonce got robbed by Beck lol).

Best Pop Duo/Group Performance:
Fall In Line by Christina Aguilera & Demi Lovato
Don’t Go Breaking My Heart by Backstreet Boys
S Wonderful by Tony Bennett & Diana Krall
Shallow by Lady Gaga & Bradley Cooper
Girls Like You by Maroon 5 & Cardi B
Say Something by Justin Timberlake & Chris Stapleton
The Middle by Zedd, Maren Morris, & Grey

My thoughts: Again lots of amazing contenders but if I had to narrow it down Christina/Demi, Backstreet Boys, Lady Gaga/Bradley, & Justin/Chris.

Best Pop Vocal Album:
Camila by Camila Cabello
Meaning Of Life by Kelly Clarkson
Sweetener by Ariana Grande
Shawn Mendes by Shawn Mendes
Beautiful Trauma by Pink
Reputation by Taylor Swift

My thoughts: SHAWN OR ARIANA HAS TO WIN THIS!! They both deserve Gramny’s & it made me so happy when I found out they were nominated because I have followed both of their careers since the beginning & I’ve witness them grow into the amazing artists they are today!

Best Rap Performance:
Be Careful by Cardi B
Nice For What by Drake
King’s Dead by Kendrick Lamar, Jay Rock, Future, & James Blake
Bubblin by Anderson Paak
Sicko Mode by Travis Scott, Drake, Big Hawk, & Swae Lee

My thoughts: Sicko Mode & everything about Astroworld was such a brilliant album & any award given to that album I’ll be super happy!

Best Rap/Sung Performance:
Like I Do by Christina Aguilera & Goldlink
Pretty Little Fears by 6LACK & J Cole
This Is America by Childish Gambino
All The Stars by Kendrick Lamar & SZA
Rockstar by Post Malone & 21 Savage

My thoughts: This Is America, All The Stars, & Rockstar are my personal top contenders. It’s super hard to just pick one!! Any award given to Post, Kendrick, SZA, or Donald will make me happy in general.

Best Rap Album:
Invasion Of Privacy By Cardi B
Swimming by Mac Miller
Victory Lap by Nipsey Hussle
Daytona by Pusha T
Astroworld by Travis Scott

My thoughts: Only Travis or Mac deserve this Grammy it would be amazing if they have it to Mac on his honor.

Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song:
Reckless Love by Cory Asbury
You Say by Lauren Daigle
Joy by For King & Country
Grace Got You by MercyMe
Known by Tauren Wells

My thoughts: TobyMac got robbed (but next year Toby is gonna take the Grammy’s For The Elements). As much as I want For King & Country to win realistically its gonna go to Lauren because of how much commercial success she’s gotten in the past year.
