Shawn Mendes: The Tour - San Antonio Experience

So Tuesday night, I saw Shawn Mendes live in San Antonio & it was such a UNBELIEVABLE EXPERIENCE! I personally felt so many feelings at this show! I've loved Shawn since his Vine days in 2013 & back in 2014 (which today is EXACTLY 5 years ago since this happened), I saw him open up for Austin Mahone in San Antonio! This was my first true Shawn Mendes concert experience & the wait was definitely worth it!

This story I'm about to tell you is probably still blows my mind! So over a year ago is when we bought the tickets so we waited a year in advance for this day! We had gotten Floor 7 tickets for a really good price! I don't have the original ticket on me so I don't remember the exact price but if I can guess they were like $70-$80 which is a really good price for that area!

We had physical copies of those tickets from Ticketmaster & when we got to the point to where they checked our tickets, the lady carefully was looking at all of ours very intensely which at first scared me & I was so ready to make the, "THESE AREN'T FAKE! I GOT THESE OFF OF TICKETMASTER I SWEAR!" speech.

The lady then directed my mom, my best friend Mady, & I to guest services & I was SO NERVOUS FOR WHAT WAS GOING TO HAPPEN NEXT! We then told the guy at guest services that the lady had sent us to guest services but we were unsure of the reason BUT WE KNEW THE TICKETS CAME FROM TICKETMASTER!

What the guy said next still gives me goosebumps! He said, "The venue decided to take your section  out, but your seats did get upgraded to Floor 5!". He then gave us our new copies & from the knowledge I knew about Floor 5 was that they were super close seats & a GREAT view of A & B stages & on the day of the show Floor 5 seats were being sold for $150-$250.

Our original seats were in the back left corner of the floor & already a great view of both stages but Floor 5 was going to be WAY BETTER & I was super anxious to find out where our new seats were. Mady & I got merch & then we went to our seats right in the beginning of Alessia Cara's setlist (which by the way she KILLED IT & we had met her in Corpus at a free show about 4 years ago)!

When we got to seats, I was so shocked by how amazing the seats were! My mom had texted us while we were getting merch that our seats were amazing & we were going to freak out. Guess what guys? She was absolutely right! We had not only the perfect view of the A stage but directly behind us 2 rows back was THE B STAGE!!!!!!!! I HONESTLY WAS SO SHOCKED LIKE WHAT DID I DO TO DESERVE THIS AMAZING BLESSING????

SO FINALLY SHAWN CAME ON!!! He started off with Lost In Japan & There's Nothing Holdin Me Back which our section went CRAZY to! It was so pumped up & so much positive energy was radiating! I knew this was genuinely going to be not only super amazing because that's what Shawn is but also a FREAKING GREAT TIME!

I jumped up & down like a true crazy fan girl, screamed, cried, sang my heart out to every lyric, & even just sat there & dropped my jaw because that's how amazing this whole show & experience really was! Some of my favorite songs from the new album he performed was Nervous, Mutual, Where Were You In The Morning, & Youth (side note: Mutual had me lowkey emotional but lowkey hyped! I'm a mess LOL)!

He also performed his classics like Stiches & Life Of The Party! At the beginning of the show he brought up the fact that the first big arena show he ever played in was in San Antonio at the place next door. He was talking about the first time I ever saw him when he opened up for Austin Mahone & it was so funny my mom then said, "Hey didn't y'all go to that show?" & Mady & I YELLED "WE WERE FREAKING THERE! WE LIVED IT! AHHHHHHH!!". It also really sunk in how long I've been supporting his career & how proud I am of him! I KNEW HE WAS GOING TO BE A BIG DEAL! I KNEW IT!!!!

Then we got to THE B STAGE!! Where we were going to be SO CLOSE TO SHAWN MENDES (in the first picture was a picture I had snapped while watching him perform on the B Stage & below I'll upload another pic so y'all can truly sink in HOW MUCH OF A DREAM COME TRUE THIS TRULY WAS)!!!! I could go on all day about this show but this post would be forever long but I just want to relive that night over & over. Shawn is such an amazing performer & puts on such an amazing show! I highly recommend attending one of his shows! I am truly blessed & thankful for the experience I had at this show & that seat upgrade ended up being the absolute DREAM COME TRUE! I am truly incredibly blessed I have the opportunities to hear my favorite songs & artists live & it truly brings me so much joy! That feeling you get at a concert is truly the best feeling ever!
