Hey guys! It's crazy when taking several days off from blogging how many topics come to my head that I want to discuss & that's exactly what today's post is going to be all about! I haven't titled a post as "Adulting & Adventuring with Jess" in a long time but it suits today's post perfectly! We have a lot to discuss so sit back & relax, this post is probably going to end up being a little lengthy!

So, the picture above is me on one of the coolest adventures I've been on this whole summer! It's going to sound super lame when I say it but it's 2020 & we are in the middle of a pandemic so we got to work with what's accessible!

I'm from Corpus Christi, TX which has a lot of pretty spots (mostly by the bay) to hang out at but the surrounding areas tend to get overlooked! My friend & I had the coolest idea to discover those places & kind of do a fun little road trip of those surrounding areas by the bay that tend to get overlooked! We travelled from Portland (which the picture taken above is at a park in Portland), Ingleside, Aransas Pass, & then last but not least we took the ferry to Port Aransas which eventually winds you back to Corpus!

It was a super fun little day trip & I'd love to do the road trip again very soon!! One other place that would be fun for this road trip but it's a little further out from my area so that's why we didn't stop there on our trip is Rockport! My mother & I back in early May did a day trip to Rockport & discovered so many pretty spots especially in their downtown area near their beaches! Fulton which is a little town within Rockport also had a bunch of really pretty places too!

After a few times of doing this trip which I do plan on doing more often before it gets cold outside (which in South Texas is November), I'll do a post about where to go for this fun little road trip, places to stop at, & all of that fun stuff! Maybe, I'll do the post within the next few days but we'll see what the outcome of this week is which I am actually about to discuss!!

Since I am from South Texas & live close to the bay, around this time of year it puts my area at risks of possible tropical storms & hurricanes coming to my area! Just this last month, Hurricane Hanna did some damage to downtown & the Island (it basically destroyed Bob Hall Pier)! If you haven't watched the news or are from Kansas & only experience cyclones (that was a total Wizard of Oz reference LOL), 2 STORMS that can both potentially be HURRICANES are in the Gulf of Mexico, AT THE SAME TIME!!!

The storms or should I say hurricanes are named Marco & Laura (it would've been funny if they changed Laura's name to Polo LOL) but as of today, we have no idea where either storm is going to land! All of the areas kind of on watch for any of these storms coming near them are Louisiana, Houston, Galveston, Victoria, & then Corpus (my area)!

We have no idea what the outcome of any of these storms are going to be & whether my area will be affected or not! We could get a little rain, we could get no rain, or we could get hit with this hurricane! You have to prepare for anything honestly! I'm praying both storms aren't super serious & no one will have to evacuate because with this pandemic, evacuating will definitely bring a rise in cases which we don't need!

This blog has been through Harvey, Hanna, & now possibly one of these storms! It's crazy to think over the past 3 years of blogging how many of my craziest & most important life events have been documented on here. I didn't think 3 years later I'd still be doing this that's for sure!

Before this whole storm came into the subject, I had planned out doing a "VMAs Week" on my blog & I already started one in my previous post which you can scroll down my homepage & see or to make life easier just click on this link!

We have no idea what the outcome of this week will bring so you may get 1 VMAs themed post or you may get 4! I want to try to update y'all on what's happening to this storm as much as I can! I'm not a meteorologist but I have friends & family who fill me in on this information constantly which is good & you are living in any of the areas possibly affected by this storm, check out your local news stations this week. This is a crazy turn of events but what's 2020 without more crazy turns of events!

From my local meteorologists, we won't know anything for sure they say till tomorrow but this storm has been in a million different directions & Mother Nature may have other ideas in mind! 2020 is truly the year of uncertainty!

I don't know if I've explained in a post in the past (I think I have), but I've been taking some online courses to bide myself some time & learn new things to possibly give myself stability in my future! The final exam for this one course I'm taking is coming up & in between this whole hurricane mess & attempting to do VMAs week, I have to study hard for this exam so if you are expecting a week filled with VMAs week posts, I may be having too much going on to post as much as I want to!

I really don't know what this week will be like for my blog but I do know for sure next week (August 31 to be exact), I'll be having the BIGGEST day for my blog as I will be posting my VMAs Review post & my OFFICIAL Grammys 2021 predictions which I'm really excited about!

I've pretty much made up my mind on what will be on my Grammys predictions, I just have to of course explain why my predictions are the way they area & all of that stuff! Of course, my VMAs review post will be done the day it's suppose to post but I am hoping to have my Grammys predictions out of the way so I can put my full focus on VMAs!!

Tomorrow's post will be another life update kind of post updating y'all on what's going on with my week & what Marco & Laura (not Polo unfortunately) will do to my area or any of the surrounding areas! I have relatives in Louisiana & the Houston areas so this is a big deal!

If you made it to the end of this post, congrats! You are a real one & I'll see y'all tomorrow! Have a blessed week!

Making Fall Fashion Cute in a Coastal City

Making Fall Fashion Cute in a Coastal City Hey guys! Today we will be doing a fashion themed post & today's theme is making fall fashion cute but if you live in a southern coastal city where it is still 90 degrees outside. I feel like there is not enough recognition for coastal falls, especially in fashion so today, we are going to get realistic about fall fashion while it is still 90 degrees outside. Neutrals Go with EVERYTHING! No matter if you are doing a tank top and shorts look or even a sweater with jeans (if you risk being sweaty after the fact), neutrals are a GO TO for every season but mostly for fall. Lean towards your black, white, & even like an oatmeal type of neutral colored clothing & focus on those when building your coastal fall wardrobe. How 2025 Became My Best Year Yet & 26 Goals for 2026

How 2025 Became My Best Year Yet & 26 Goals for 2026 Outfit Details: Top: Abercrombie & Fitch Shorts: Nordstrom Hey guys! I know I have been MIA from the blog for a while (most of the year actually) but I went MIA for very good reasons!  2025 has been full of blessings and amazing memories. As we start goal setting for 2026, I want to recap how 2025 became my best year yet and how going into 2026, I am feeling such a fresh mindset and this positive momentum we had in 2025 will in fact continue in 2026. I want to continue to be a positive force within not only myself but also for the people around me as well. 2025 became the year I have been longing for since I stepped into this crazy world of adulthood at 18 years old and that is, working full time in marketing/social media. Within the company I have worked for the past 2 1/2 years, this past June I switched departments from Membership/Recruitment to full on Marketing which if you have been following me for a while has been...
