Let's Chat - Confidence Boosting, Eating Healthier, & Focusing On Me

Hey guys! It's been a FAT MINUTE since I've done a "Let's Chat" post! I've just been so busy with work, my online social media course, & hanging out with friends! Today's "Let's Chat" is going to be a pretty real one for me at least! 

We will be discussing all sorts of topics today from confidence boosting, eating healthier, focusing on me, & much more!

This past summer was a huge up & down rollercoaster! I went through some of the happiest times of my life (especially the concerts OH MY GOD I AM SO BLESSED) & some of the roughest times of my life as my life was constantly changing for a good 5 months but now everything is settling down & things are going a lot more smoother!

I took a break from blogging for most of June which click here to read more on that because I really don't feel like explaining every detail again! If you are too lazy to click the link long story short, I had left a job I had for 2 years to pursue a whole new career path & it ended up not being the right fit & I wasn't 100% passionate in what I was doing so I left & went back to my true passion which was fashion (if you a confused I'm at a completely different store now than I was in my old fashion job).

After that, my confidence was at a all time low & I felt more lost than ever. I felt like I couldn't catch a break & it SUCKED! I felt so insecure about every decision I was making for a good 2 months & I practically begged for things to finally be steady again!

The thing I was lacking during those hard times was church! I prayed & I listened to a lot of Christian music but I missed the feeling of being in a church! A month ago, I finally started going to church regularly again & it's really been such an amazing way to gain my confidence again! God will always have my back!

During those hard times, I ate A LOT & drank a lot of sugared drinks! Whenever I'm stressed, I CRAVE junk food & a lot of sugar! I'm already pretty skinny as it is & one day, I wanted to try on some jeans that I'm thinking about wearing to a concert later this month. I already started to notice some of my size 4 jean shorts were getting a little tight but I've been transforming to a 6/8 for a while so I just thought it was that! 

I tried on the jeans which are high waisted jeans & they didn't fit at all & I had bought them back in February. I honestly sobbed. I will admit, I haven't been working out as much as I should because I've been focusing on work & just dealing with all of the life changes. To be honest, my workout schedule can still be better it's ALL OVER THE PLACE! 

I decided in that moment that I NEED to find ways to eat healthier! I have cut out caffeine (I once a week treat myself to a sweet tea), I don't eat French fries, ice cream (I substituted that with frozen yogurt), candy, & I eat smaller portions. 

I've really been leaning on smoothies, sandwiches, & grapes! I've never been a huge fruit person (I'm still picky) but fruit & lots of veggies is what's gotten me through eating healthy! It's not as fun as candy but it's for sure better for me!

Also I've noticed my confidence has gotten so much better ever since I started eating healthier things! I'm not going to lie, I'm not 100% eathing healthy! Really the only fast food I eat is Chick Fil A, Chipotle, & Subway! 

A year ago, I did a Chick Fil A diet which I only order a 12 count of nuggets or just a Chick Fil A sandwich with NO FATENING GREASY FRIES & I saw a major difference! I felt better, less bloated, & I wasn't eating a ton of calories. The first couple of times I did it, I was still a little hungry & was craving those fries but now the idea of those fries sounds so BLEHHH which is sad because I love waffle fries but it truly made a difference!

I have seen a difference over the past month eating healthier & smaller portions. I tried on the jeans I wanted to wear yesterday & they ALMOST FIT!! I'm SO HAPPY! Now the next step is getting a consistent workout schedule back in order but still fits in well with my work schedule! If anyone has any good workout routines (especially ab workouts) send them my way!

I'm so excited to see what exciting things this month has in store for me! I am finally settled down in my job finally feeling comfortable & I've just been simply having fun & spending time with my close family & friends! 

I prayed for times to be better & for things to be more steady & I got what I prayed for! Everyday is a new beginning!
