Am I Retiring from Blogging???

Hey guys!! Long time, no talk! I'm about to explain why... so hey! What's up? I bet regular blog viewers are wondering where I've been & why I went absolutely MIA on this blog. A week before the new year, I had already made up my mind that I was gonna post all of the content I had planned & then take a break from blogging to focus on my podcast & other social media avenues just because I wanted to mainly focus on that & the type of content I wanted to put out would fair better on my podcast & Instagram than on this blog.

So if you don't already know... I have a podcast called, "It's A Bop! with Jess" where I talk about music, social media trends, TV shows, & more & I've been having so much fun making it so anyone who has gotten the chance to listen to it, THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! It truly me

I started this blog almost 4 years ago (2017 to be exact) in hopes of being a content creator in the fashion & beauty industry just because of the jobs & likes I had at that time inspired me to do so. I was 19 when I started this blog with absolutely no intention of how it was going to go & now I'm 23. I've learned a lot about myself & about content creation over the years from blogging & this blog has evolved & been so many different things. I think of this blog as my aspiring content creating experiment. I was able to discover all different avenues & decide where I wanted to go in content creating.

The whole fashion/beauty blogger thing didn't go as planned & instead, I don't even know how I would classify this blog which was a huge problem because I feel like every blog should have its own identity & I was struggling to find my blog identity. From late 2019-most of 2020, I leaned more towards music blogging & music award show blogging which I will honestly tell y'all, I have had a blast doing some of those posts & those are posts I will always be so proud of but the harsh reality was, as much as I was finding joy in doing those posts, the viewers I am wanting aren't going to go to a Blogspot blog so then, I did months of research into where I wanted to showcase my passion for music & talking everything music award shows!

Last October, I got the craziest opportunity to do something absolutely insane & for months I was calling it, "the secret project". The opportunity didn't go through as I had hoped I had wanted it to be but I will always be super thankful for that opportunity because slowly after I did everything for this opportunity, "It's A BOP!" was born. 

I will confirm right now that the crazy opportunity that I am referring to has nothing to do with, "It's A BOP!" but coming up in a few weeks on "It's A BOP!" I will share the crazy story about how that opportunity came to be. It's going to take me a while to write up the notes for that episode so I have no guaranteed date on when that podcast will release. 

I will be releasing that episode talking about that opportunity & also doing a behind the scenes kind of visual story of the whole thing on here. I originally wasn't going to come back to blogging till late February to early March which I will explain why I chose that time frame now. So, if you don't already know I've been campaigning my Grammys themed posts for MONTHS because of how well my Grammys 2020 posts ended up being & I felt so passionate about those posts that for Grammys 2021 the posts were going to be greater than ever!!

Well... at the beginning of 2021, I had posted a few posts because I wasn't 100% ready to let go of blogging plus there were some posts I had wanted to do in December & the New Years posts that I definitely wanted to bring into 2021 so I blogged about 4 days in a row & those posts were already done several days & weeks in advanced so I decided to go through with those & the original plan was to take a break till Grammys week which was suppose to be next week but due to the rise of COVID cases in LA, the Grammys got postponed to March!

The Grammys being postponed switched around my content plans SO MUCH & I had to really rethink everything. I originally wasn't going to post again for the rest of the month to think over my plans moving forward but here we are, explaining what's been going on. The main reason I am posting today is not only to fill y'all in on what's going on but to also announce I will be doing a visual behind the scenes post on one of my future podcast episodes.

Now to answer the question of the true title of this post, Am I Retiring from Blogging??? 

At this moment, no but I am putting the podcast & my personal social media more as a priority than this blog but no, this blog is not retiring anytime soon.

What's going on for Grammys week??? 

I'm still not 100% sure on that one yet. I definitely want to do Grammys themed things on, "It's A BOP!" & here so stay tuned for that!

Are there any planned posts??

Not at this moment for this month. Most likely the crazy opportunity visual Storytime version of the podcast post will be out early February because I already know planning both the episode & the post will be a couple of days or maybe even a week to get together.

I'm going to most likely come back to blogging part time in Late February/Early March because there's still so many things in my personal life I have to figure out!

That's another reason why I took a break from blogging. Mentally, I just couldn't add blogging into my life.

It's been nice to have this time off to focus on other projects that go with the type of content creator I want to be!

It's about time I end this post because y'all I forgot how exhausting blogging truly is. How have I done this for almost 4 years??

I'm excited for the future & what the rest of 2021 has to bring. Hopefully it's better than 2020!!
