My Thoughts on the 2020 Billboard Music Awards Winners

Hey guys! Yes, this is another Billboard Music Awards themed post. Since I didn't do a full review this year due to my super busy schedule I decided last post which I highlighted my top 10 favorite moments from the awards & this post would make up for not doing a full review. I realized in my 3 years of blogging, I've always talked about award shows & I always talk about my nomination thoughts but I've never done a full post on my thoughts on the winners.

I've always wanted to do a post like this but when I did my Grammys & VMAs reviews from this year I kind of discussed my winner thoughts with my thoughts on the show as a whole. I will be sharing my thoughts on this year's winners & whether I agreed with them or not. I know a bunch of these categories weren't fan voted so I definitely won't agree with 100% of these winners!

Top Artist - Post Malone

I’M SO HAPPY POSTY WON BIG!! His acceptance speech for this award & all of his other awards were so cute. It was so well deserved CONGRATS POSTY!!!

Top New Artist - Billie Eilish

Definitely not my #1 choice (I wanted Lizzo to win) but I wasn’t shocked she won especially because of how big she won at the Grammys. 

Billboard Chart Achievement (Fan Voted) - Harry Styles

I could cry because I am THAT PROUD of Harry! He has had such a huge year & every bit of recognition possible is well deserved! Congrats Harry!

Top Male Artist - Post Malone

Again, I am so happy about this! So many good artists were nominated in this category & Posty was having such a big night already. Congrats!!!

Top Female Artist - Billie Eilish

Again, y’all know I’m not a big Billie fan. Her music just isn’t my type of music but as a person I respect her. Congrats!

Top Duo/Group - Jonas Brothers

I know this one is a controversial one for the BTS fans & honestly I’m SO HAPPY FOR THE JONAS BROTHERS!!!! They RAN 2019 & had the biggest comeback of our generation so the fact they won this award is VERY VERY WELL DESERVED! Congrats JoBros!!!

Top Billboard 200 Artist - Post Malone

Posty was huge last year on the charts & I couldn’t be more proud!!!

Top Hot 100 Artist - Post Malone

Again, I feel like a proud mother. I love Posty so much!

Top Radio Songs Artist - Jonas Brothers

The Jonas Brothers defines 2019 radio last year. You would hear Sucker & Only Human so much & honestly, I was all here for it. Congrats JoBros!

Top Touring Artist - Pink

You know I already had some pretty shaky opinions about this category whenever I was doing my nomination thoughts & unfortunately I’ve never seen Pink live but I’m glad out of the people who were nominated that she won the award! Congrats Pink (I’ll see you in concert someday)!

Top R&B Artist - Khalid

Now I could cry because I love Khalid so much!! 2019 was such a big year for him & Free Spirit means so much to me personally I’m so happy he won this award & all of his other awards!

Top R&B Tour - Khalid

This is the award I feel the most passionate about reviewing & sharing my thoughts from having attended the Free Spirit Tour myself. It was absolutely magical & honestly, I was moved. I would do anything to go back to the Free Spirit Tour! VERY WELL DESERVED!

Top Rap Artist - Post Malone

YESSSS POSTY!!!! I love him so much!!

Top Rap Tour - Post Malone

I also feel passionate about this award from having experienced the Runaway Tour last year & honestly the whole Hollywood’s Bleeding era has a special place in my heart! VERY WELL DESERVED!

Top Christian Artist - Lauren Daigle

I screamed when one of the Christian categories were shown on TV & I’m so happy Lauren was there to accept her award! I loved her last album & I’m so proud over how big she has gotten in the past couple of years!

Top Billboard 200 Album - When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? by Billie Eilish

I’m so sad Thank U Next or Free Spirit didn’t win! I was really rooting for Thank U Next because it was SUCH A GOOD ALBUM!

Top R&B Album - Free Spirit by Khalid

KHALID DESERVED THIS IN EVERY WAY, SHAPE, & FORM!!

Top Hot 100 Song - Old Town Road by Lil Nas X & Billy Ray Cyrus

I’m surprised this didn’t win more considering the fact this song broke so many Billboard records last year! I wasn’t a big fan of the song itself but I do think Lil Nas X is one of the funniest people on Twitter so therefore I have respect for him as an artist (Panini is a BOP)! Congrats!

Top Radio Song - Sucker by Jonas Brothers

I KNEW THIS SONG WAS GOING TO WIN!!! Sucker was everywhere on the radio last year (in a good way) & the Jonas Brothers truly made history with this song & their iconic 2019 comeback! I’m so proud of them!
