Artists, Songs, & Albums that Got ROBBED for the Grammys 2020!

Artists, Songs, & Albums that Got ROBBED for the Grammys 2020!

Happy Grammys Week!!! I've been so excited about this week for a long time & this year my Grammys themed post inspiration has really been at its all time high! Every year since I started the blog I have done my thoughts on nominees & even done some performers thoughts in the past! This year though, I wanted to highlight the artists, songs, & albums that got robbed this year that truthfully deserved a nomination!

I already discussed a few of the robberies in my nomination thoughts post which you can click here to see what I really thought about the nominees this year! I will go over those again & discuss some more as well!

Robbery #1: The Elements by TobyMac (the song not the album, the album did in fact get nominated!)

This song is a Christian song that brought me to tears!! I love the sound, the vibe, the lyrics, & everything about this song. The only way this could possibly be nominated for a Grammy at this point is if Christian radio made The Elements a single. CHRISTIAN RADIO BETTER MAKE IT A SINGLE SO IT CAN BE ELIGIBLE FOR 2021!!!

Robbery #2: Burn the Ships by for King & Country (the song not the album, again the album did get nominated!)

Another Christian song that brought me to tears! This song does possibly have a chance for 2021 since they are just now releasing this song as a single for Christian radio! I know they will most likely win their nominees this year considering God Only Knows was such a huge hit not only on Christian radio but it also hit mainstream pop radio too!

Robbery #3: Vertigo by Khalid

Y'all SLEPT ON THIS SONG FOR REAL!!!! The fact Saturday Nights became a single before Vertigo shocks me! His voice in this song brings me to tears every time I listen to it & even in concert too I'm not even being dramatic (ok maybe I am) but I was SO AMAZED! Can he release a live version of Vertigo so it can be eligible for 2021??

Robbery #4: Khalid's Free Spirit Album

This one absolutely shocked me honestly considering how big this album was for him! It was such a good album too! Definitely was in my top 5 favorite albums of 2019, I would have at least thought for maybe the R&B categories or even in Pop Vocal. Khalid's Free Spirit honestly deserved better this awards season!

Robbery #5: If I Can't Have You by Shawn Mendes

Another robbery I am shocked about considering how popular this song was on mainstream pop radio! I would have definitely thought this song would have been for sure nominated for Song of the Year or even Pop Solo Performance! I guess the competition was tough this year! Shawn deserves his Grammy already (he does have a chance this year because of Senorita)!

Robbery #6: The Happiness Begins Album

This one shocked me considering how popular their comeback was! I maybe would have put them more for Pop Vocal Album (maybe Album of the Year but that's just based on my personal music taste). The JoBros do have one nomination for Sucker but it's up against so many big songs so I'm so nervous for them but I am rooting 10000% for them to win!!

Robbery #7: The entire A Star Is Born Soundtrack

The biggest robbery this Grammys was this album! I think if it hadn't been released so early on in the eligibility period it would have gotten a Album of the Year nomination! It has a nomination for the movie soundtrack category & Gaga even scored a Song of the Year nomination for the best song in the movie Always Remember Us This Way (I'm gonna be so mad if that doesn't win)!

Robbery #8: Goodbye should have gotten more praise than Sunflower

I love Posty but Sunflower definitely is not in my top 5 favorite songs by him! I would have personally nominated Goodbye instead of Sunflower for Record of the Year but that's just my opinion! Hollywood's Bleeding will take all of the main category nominations in 2021 MARK MY WORDS!!

Robbery #9: Not 1 Song from the No. 6 Collaborations was nominated!?

The album was nominated but the true shocker was that none of the songs were nominated! Beautiful People is such a good song, I would have at least thought that song would have scored a nomination for Pop Duo/Group Performance! South of the Border may have a chance next year because they are just now releasing it as a single so let's pray that song at least will receive some Grammy love next year!

Robbery #10: Sucker should have gotten a Big 4 nomination!

I'm happy Sucker got a nomination but I'm personally shocked it didn't get a nomination for Record of the Year or Song of the Year (I would have at least thought it would have been a for sure contender for Song of the Year)! Again like I said about how Happiness Begins got robbed, the JoBros had a huge comeback that deserved a little more love at the Grammys this year!

Robbery #11: Motivation by Normani

I just really love Normani & this song! I would have thought this song would have gotten a nomination for Pop Solo Performance but I guess with how many big artists released big songs, Normani's hit Motivation wouldn't have been able to compete with the popularity alone of the nominees!

Robbery #12: Slide Away by Miley Cyrus

Honestly, the fact that her dad has multiple nominations for Old Town Road & Miley has 0 nominations for pouring her heart out on Slide Away honestly makes me so mad! Slide Away was such a good song & I would have at least thought it would have received a Song of the Year nomination or Pop Solo Performance!
