Underrated Songs by Well Known Artists

Hey guys! I've been ON A ROLL with my music posts & we will continue to be on a roll with them with a fun post for today! If you know me, I LOVE a good underrated song! I love to appreciate a song that isn't on mainstream radio because I know these artists work so hard on EVERY song they write whether it becomes a #1 hit or not! Today, I'll be sharing my personal favorite underrated songs by well known artists & songs I personally think deserve the same recognition as their mainstream hits! I hope y'all enjoy today's post & if you decided to give any of these songs a listen, let me know! I LOVE putting people on new music!

Underrated Songs by Well Known Artists

#1: Something That We're Not by Demi Lovato

 

I LOVE THIS SONG! This song & this album are SUPER UNDERRATED in general & a all time favorite album of her's. Her radio hits from this album were Heart Attack, Made In The USA, Neon Lights, & I Really Don't Care which are all really good songs but the BEST songs on the album are the underrated tracks like this song & others like Two Pieces & Without The Love which I highly recommend checking out as well!

#2: Mad Love by Sean Paul, David Guetta, & Becky G

This song definitely deserved some mainstream radio recognition! It's such a catchy & fun song featuring a star studded group of artists! Imagine how much fun this song would be in the club?? 

#3: None Of My Business by Cher Lloyd

You may know Cher Lloyd from her hit in 2012 I Want U Back or Oath while those are all consider CLASSICS to me her BEST song is a song she released in late 2018 which is None Of My Business! Another super catchy song I catch myself listening to on repeat! Ever since I discovered this song, I haven't stopped listening to it!

#4: Slow It Down by Charlie Puth

If you are familiar with pop music or mainstream music in general, you for sure know who Charlie Puth is! He's had HITS like Attention & How Long but his BEST music comes from his latest album Voicenotes. When the album first came out, I for sure listened to the whole thing because personally I love him & his music. I came across Slow It Down while listening to the album for the first time & I FELL IN LOVE with the catchy beat! Definitely, I recommend listening to this song if you love upbeat pop music!

#5: Just Don't Tell Me That by *NSYNC

Everyone knows who *NSYNC is & if you don't, you are either 5 years old or living under a rock. While having HIT AFTER HIT in the late 90s/early 2000s & all AMAZING songs, they had a ton of underrated songs as well! I have many I could have posted but I posted this song because it's not super well known but has the same amazing qualities that some of their biggest hits have! 

#6: Rooting For You by Alessia Cara

You probably know Alessia from her hits "Scars To Your Beautiful" or her collaboration with Zedd on "Stay" & while those songs are very memorable, I think we need to give recognition to some of her newer music. Last summer, she came out with Rooting For You & everything about this song is so cool & chill! This song definitely deserves mainstream recognition!

#7: Unwanted by Avril Lavigne

Avril has had hits since the early 2000s but let's not forget debut album Avril Lavigne! If you listened to a lot of Avril during this time period or are a die hard fan you will for sure know this song & it will transport you back to 2003 but this post is for those who only know the hits & if you don't know this song but love her radio hits, I definitely think you should listen to this song (even though this song deserved to be a HIT at its time)! It will definitely bring back some MAJOR early 2000s nostalgia!

#8: Small Things by JoJo

If you are late 90s/early 2000s kid, you definitely knew the old JoJo & while all of those songs were CLASSIC, y'all should be keeping up with JoJo's music now! Small Things is a song off of her newest album Good To Know & it truly shows off this beautiful side to her & her voice sounds FLAWLESS! I love how she's leaning more into the R&B lane even though she's always been R&B but this really defines who she truly is as a artist! I highly recommend you listen to this song & her entire new album!

#9: Is Your Love Enough? by Little Mix

I could literally write a WHOLE post on how underrated their music is! They have had hits like Wings & Woman Like Me but their BEST music is their underrated songs. I chose this song because it's my current favorite underrated song by them even though they have MANY underrated pop jams! If you listened to this song & loved it, I recommend also looking into the songs which I'll make a list down below.

#10: Barriers by David Archuleta

If y'all truly know me, I was OBSESSED with David back in 2008 during his American Idol days (I nearly sobbed when he didn't win) & literally listened to his debut album on repeat! Crush is a iconic song but his best songs off of that album were his underrated songs including the song I linked above! I chose to post Barriers because it's his catchiest song in my opinion & definitely a song way ahead of its time! I definitely think this song would have been HUGE if it had been released a few years later as a lead single for his next album but that's just my opinion!

#11: Silent Movie by Natasha Bedingfield 

You definitely know who Natasha is if you knew her hits Unwritten & Pocketful Of Sunshine which are classics in their own way! I grew up listening to her Unwritten album because my mom owned the album & definitely her best song off of the album was Silent Movie! Her voice sounds beautiful in it & the music in it is flawless! It definitely should have been a radio hit in the 2000s!

#12: Small Talk by Niall Horan

Of course I'm going to bring up a Niall song because I love him! He's had hits like Slow Hands & Nice To Meet Ya which are iconic songs but I definitely had to give Small Talk some recognition from his newest album Heartbreak Weather! This song is so catchy & reminds me every single time how much I love this man as a artist & a person! Small Talk should definitely be his next radio hit!

#13: Out Of Town Girl by Justin Bieber

MY ALL TIME FAVORITE JUSTIN BIEBER SONG HANDS DOWN!!! This is a song that deserves all of the positive recognition possible! Ok? Now, STREAM IT!

#14: I'm Real by Jennifer Lopez

This version gets OVERLOOKED a lot by the remix with Ja Rule in it & personally this version will always be the better version! I grew up listening to JLo like everyone else & the reason I posted this version because it got so overlooked, forgotten, & became super underrated by the general public! LISTEN TO THIS VERSION ASAP!

#15: Voodoo by Nick Jonas

Everyone knows Nick Jonas & everyone knows he had a solo career outside of being in the Jonas Brothers! The first song people think of when they think of solo Nick is Jealous which is a super fun & catchy song but his BEST solo song comes from his 2nd solo album which is the song I linked above! This song & Champagne Problems are so underrated & I highly recommend those songs still to this day!

#16: Who Owns My Heart by Miley Cyrus

This has to be my all time favorite Miley Cyrus song & it should've definitely had the amount of mainstream success as Can't Be Tamed did (which both songs are off the same album)! It's so catchy & fun!

#17: Fireproof by One Direction

Again, I could make a whole post about every underrated song of One Direction's I am IN LOVE with! I chose Fireproof because I feel like this one in particular is super underrated along with some of their other songs. Honestly, I just need to end the post here before I go into depth about how every underrated song of One Direction's! Just listen to every song of theirs that isn't a radio hit!
